Located in Malappuram, the site was situated next to the Coastal Highway, which was commissioned for further widening. In response to these site conditions, the house was tucked away from the road, to the far end of the site.
The design strategy was to provide lush landscape pockets around and within the built space that act as a buffer from the urban chaos.
Principal Architects Reny Lijo and Lijo Jos walk us through this house which is divided into blocks and interspersed with greens.

What a waste space, making LARGE GREEN AREA but surround by walls and parking area, even entance walk way only see the neighbor garden.For sound and pollutions protection from highway, you can put barrier plants or high wall behind parking area so main buiding can have doors and windows to utilize the main garden unstead of small pocket behind the site.
Every kerala architects, specifically young architects have to listen and watch,, Reny Ligo videos... They truely understand the clients and put their ideas....

How does this house cope with the torrential rains?..this is a house I would expect in Hyderabad perhaps. I would like to see the house after a few seasons. Lot of thought has gone into this definitely.

How does the walkway work in rainy season? A person who has parked the car in the porch, how does he reach the house without getting wet?
